The Board of EQAA is the main decision making body of the agency. It takes the decisions about accreditations in order to ensure coherence and consistency of decisions. The members of the Board are highly acclaimed international experts in higher education and quality assurance.

Mohamed Loutfi
Mohamed Loutfi is a Professor of Internationalisation and the Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) at Cardiff Metropolitan University. In this capacity he is responsible for the development and implementation of the university's internationalisation strategy at home and abroad. Mohamed Loutfi is a member of the Council of the Magna Charta Observatory of Fundamental University Values and Rights. He also serves as a member of the International Governance Group at the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education. In addition he is a member of the Going Global Steering Committee of the British Council.
He holds a BSc in Economics and Political Science, an MSc in Information Technology and a PhD in Systems Thinking. Before joining Cardiff Metropolitan University, he held the posts of Senior Lecturer, then Principal Lecturer, then Head of Transnational Education at the University of Sunderland.
Mohamed Loutfi has been very active in education reforms internationally, with a strong focus on North Africa and the Middle East. One of the outcomes of this work has been the establishment of the Arab-European Leadership Network for Higher Education, which connects institutional leaders from the Arab speaking countries and Europe to build capacity facilitate cooperation in educational reforms.
